Customizing Menu Items with Modifier Groups

Modifier Groups allow restaurants to offer customers additional choices or customization options for their menu items (e.g., extra cheese, choice of sauce, spice level, toppings). Instead of creating multiple duplicate menu items, modifier groups make the menu more flexible and tailored to customer preferences.

Modifier Groups can be managed after adding Menu Items

They are essential for:

  • Customization: Allowing guests to personalize their order.
  • Efficiency: Reducing duplicate items and simplifying menu management.
  • Upselling: Adding chargeable extras like toppings or sides.

How to Add a Modifier Group

  1. Go to Menu → Modifier Groups.
  1. Click Add Modifier Group.
  1. Enter details such as Modifier Name (e.g., Toppings, Sauces) and Description (optional, to guide staff or customers).
  2. While adding Modifier Options, keep in mind few below points
  3. Add Modifier Name and the Price

6. You can add multiple modifies in single group by clicking “Add Modifier Option”

7. You can set the availability by checking the (is available) and cancel the not required modifiers from the group by close button.

8. Assign the group to Menu Items on which the modifiers are applicable

    9. Click Save.

      How changes in Groups Modifiers relate to other modules.

      • Menu Items → Modifier groups link directly to items for customization.
      • Item Modifiers → Each option within a group is treated as an item modifier.
      • Reports/Analytics → Track sales of modifier add-ons (e.g., how many customers paid for extra cheese).
