How to manage Menu Items
The Menu Items module is where you manage all the individual dishes and beverages offered by your restaurant.
While the Menu defines the overall categories (like North Indian, South Indian, Beverages), the Menu Items module goes a level deeper to manage every single dish with its name, description, price, availability, and category.
This is the heart of menu management, as customers and staff interact with these items the most during ordering.

- Allows restaurants to keep all dishes organized and updated.
- Makes it easy to add, edit, or remove items quickly.
- Keeps information consistent across POS, customer site, and mobile apps.

Key Features of Menu Items
- Add New Items – Create new dishes with name, description, image, price, and category.
- Item Categories – Assign each item to categories like Starters, Main Course, Desserts.
- Menu Linking – Each item belongs to a specific menu (e.g., Paneer Tikka under North Indian Delights).
- Availability Toggle – Control whether an item is currently available to order.
- Show on Customer Site – Choose if the item should be displayed to customers online.
- Update/Delete – Quickly edit details or remove an item if it’s no longer offered.
- Images & Descriptions – Add food pictures and descriptions for better customer appeal.
How to Add a Menu Item
- Go to Menu Items from the side panel.
- Click on Add Item.
- Fill in the details asked in the form and click Save
- You can search the food item from the quick search or show filters
- You can search the food items by applying filters. Click on “Show Filters”. It will open the filters that can be applied.
- With dropdown of category, type of food, availability, select the checkboxes to get the desired results.
Relations with Other Modules
- Menus – Items are linked under specific menus.
- Menu Categories – Each item must belong to a category like Starters or Breads.
- Modifiers – Items can have extra add-ons (e.g., Extra Cheese for Pizza).
- POS & Customer Site – All updates reflect immediately in POS terminals and online ordering.
