Understanding Timezone and Operating Hours

Timezone and operating hours determine how SISTEM manages time across your organization and individual parkings.

The timezone is configured once at the organization level and is inherited by all parkings. Operating hours are configured separately for each parking, allowing different parking locations to follow different schedules.

How Timezone Works

The organization timezone provides the common time reference for all operations in SISTEM.

You select the timezone when creating your organization. Once the organization is created, the selected timezone applies to all parkings under it.

The timezone is used when SISTEM records and processes time-based activities such as:

• Parking entries and exits
• Parking sessions
• Pricing and time-based rates
• Payments and transactions
• Reports and dashboards
• Invoices and other records

Important Things to Know

• The timezone is configured at the organization level.
• All parkings under the organization inherit the same timezone.
• A parking cannot have a different timezone from its organization.
• The timezone should be selected carefully during organization setup.

How Operating Hours Work

Operating hours define when a specific parking is open for operations.

Unlike the timezone, operating hours are configured at the parking level. Each parking can have its own schedule based on its operational requirements.

You can configure different operating hours for different days and support parking schedules such as:

• Specific opening and closing times
• Different schedules for different days
• 24/7 operations
• Closed days

For example, an organization may manage two parkings using the same timezone:

Both parkings use the organization’s timezone, but each follows its own operating schedule.

Timezone vs. Operating Hours

In simple terms, timezone defines what time it is, while operating hours define when a parking is open.

Important Things to Know

• Set the organization timezone correctly during organization creation.
• All parkings inherit the organization’s timezone.
• Configure operating hours separately for each parking.
• Operating hours work within the organization’s timezone; they do not change the timezone.
• If a parking operates overnight or across midnight, configure its operating hours according to its actual schedule
