Every parking session, report, and transaction in SISTEM is time-stamped which means getting your timezone right isn’t a small detail. It’s what keeps your data accurate.
Let is understand how timezone works across your organization and parkings, and how to set your operating hours correctly.
How Timezone Works in SISTEM
Timezone can be set at both the organization level and the parking level.
- If your country has a single timezone, this is straightforward your organization and all your parkings will typically use the same timezone.
- If your country spans multiple timezones, this needs more attention. When creating your organization and each parking, make sure you select the correct location for that specific entity. SISTEM detects the timezone based on the location you choose.
For example, if you’re setting up parkings in two cities that fall in different timezones within the same country, each parking should reflect its own local timezone, not the timezone of your organization’s head office.
Why This Matters
Your timezone affects far more than just what time is displayed on screen. It determines:
- When a parking session starts and ends
- How entries, exits, and durations are calculated
- How your reports and billing periods line up
- When your operating hours actually apply
Getting this wrong can throw off session timing, reports, and even billing accuracy — so it’s worth double-checking during setup, not fixing later.
Setting Your Timezone
Timezone is generally set based on the location you provide while creating your organization or parking. You can review or update it anytime from your parking’s settings.
Understanding Operating Hours
Operating hours define when a parking is actually open for business. SISTEM uses this to reflect availability accurately and to support accurate scheduling and reporting.
You can set:
- Specific working days — if your parking isn’t open every day
- Specific open and close times — if your parking doesn’t run 24 hours
- All-day, every-day operations — if your parking never closes
How to Update Working Days and Operating Hours
- Go to Settings → Parking Profile.
- Click Edit Parking Profile.
- You can change the operating hours of your parking and working days.
- If your parking is open every day, turn on All Day Open. If it’s only open on certain days, leave this off and select the specific days (Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr, Sa, Sun).
- If your parking runs 24 hours, turn on Open 24 Hours. If not, leave this off and set your Open Time and Close Time.
- Click Save Changes.
Your updated operating hours and timezone will now apply across sessions, reports, and availability for that parking.
Things to Keep in Mind
- Always double-check the location you select while creating an organization or parking, especially in countries with multiple timezones.
- Each parking’s timezone should reflect where that parking physically operates — not necessarily your organization’s main location.
- Operating hours can be updated anytime and will apply going forward, without affecting past records.
